Kazama Shin, the main character of Area 88. I really enjoy this show. Shin, through no fault of his own, is forced into a situation where he must learn to kill. He must then face the fact that such knowledge comes at the price of part of his humanity. Unlike many young anime pilot protagonists, Shin never sits around moping while his friends get killed; he is a skilled fighter pilot who does what must be done. He only agonizes about things later, when he is alone. This cel is from either the second or third OAV. I really wish that CPM would release these final two OAVs on DVD!
