Akira is about to cluelessly say, "Please, invite me to your wedding", at which point Utako declares that she hates him. Fortunately, Santa Claus turns up to explain things to Akira in the next episode. Listening to Utako saying "dai kirai!" in this scene gave me flashbacks to Neon Genesis Evangelion, since Utako and Asuka are both voiced by Miyamura Yuko. Fortunately, while Utako shares Asuka's, um, assertive nature, she seems to be rather better adjusted than the EVA pilot.
