Ahh, Hotohori. I'm not very good at choosing "favorite characters", but he's probably the character I admire most in Fushigi Yuugi. He's strong, devoted, selfless enough to stand aside for the sake of his beloved's happiness, but still flawed enough to be human. He also has great hair and Koyasu Takehito's voice. ;-) For a long time I watched Fushigi Yuugi cel updates go by, waiting for "just the right cel" of Hotohori. Was I being too picky? Would I even know it when I saw it? Then I saw this cel, and suddenly knew what I'd been waiting for. :-) This is an A1 end cel of Hotohori from episode 16, where the Suzaku folks have a nasty surprise, and find a new member of their party. He is having a moment of shocked introspection as he realizes what the consequences would have been if he'd been able to carry out Shoka's suggested "treatment" on Miaka. This is an oversized pan cel, and I'm amused to note that what starts out as a serious pan ends with SD Tasuki in the foreground! Thanks to Keys for the episode ID.
