From episode 18. Lahrri prepares to race against a simulated Midoh Tomoe. She wonders why she, the perfect running machine, cannot beat Midoh Tomoe's time. Surely running is only a matter of superior strength and reflexes, with no place for emotion--how could someone like Midoh Tomoe, who smiled as she ran, be faster? Like Ayla, Lahrri was trained to believe that there was no place for emotion in sports. Eventually she learns otherwise. The simulated Tomoe looks kind of scary, though not nearly as scary as the real thing. | |
